Designing with awareness of the environment means respecting the natural components we use to build homes. After working on projects in Asia for many years, Susanna Cots and her team have introduced Paulownia into Catalonia. This new wood has all the features needed to become the wood of the future: it is sustainable, can be grown on any terrain, is not invasive and does not pose a threat to native species. It presents the sector with a splendid challenge.
