White as a concept, starting point and lifestyle. The emotions and philosophy of slow are at the root of the essence of every project. Understand the complexity and make it simple and timeless. That’s designer Susanna Cots’ motto.

She strives to achieve a balance between space and emotion, expressed as visual comfort that is perceived naturally and coherently, and the contrasts that she conceals from the eye.

Comfort appears simply. Design becomes feeling. Interior architecture is personified.

Her designs are expressed in order, visual comfort and clarity. A combination that creates a soft explosion by playing with volumes, sophisticated lines and white as the main source of inspiration. The result is always a sensitive design.

Passionate about changes that endure, understandable metaphors and contrasts that become comfortable, Susanna Cots has been designing homes, contract spaces and anything else that can be designed for more than fifteen years.

Her simplicity, perseverance and specialisation in slow design have enabled her to carve out a niche in the ephemeral world of design where she also takes an active part as a speaker, giving lectures in multidisciplinary creative circles. Her work is studied in some of the country’s universities and she has been widely recognised in nationwide and international publications in more than thirty countries.

In 2001 she decided to set up her own design studio in Manresa. Barcelona and Girona followed in 2010 and 2013 respectively as she ventured into the field of international design. A year later she opened her first international studio in Hong Kong.

She has achieved pre-eminence on the international scene with the recognition that accompanies prestigious prizes such as the Luxury Lifestyle Awards (Best Interior Designer, 2018) at the international level and the Idea Tops Awards in China that granted her the Best International Interior Design Award 2013 in the residential category, in which she was also runner-up in the 2012 edition.

Her work has also been distinguished by the judges’ panels. She has been a finalist on various occasions in competitions in the United Kingdom such as the Society of British Interior Design (SBID) Awards (in 2016, 2011 and 2010), the Porcelanosa Interior Design Awards (2010), the ICFF New York, International Contemporary Furniture Fair (2009) and in the FAD Barcelona Awards (2005).

Susanna Cots is a member of the ADP – Association of Professional Designers – and of the BCD, Barcelona Centre de Disseny on the domestic front, and at international level she is an honorary member of The Society of British Interior Design, Asia Designer Platform and the Colegio de Decoradores de Colombia.
